Release Date: September 2008

Making his debut on Hardcore Beats with this prime slice of sci-fi breakbeat, Wavewhore opens with 'More Life' - a trademark fizzy, twisty and tough excursion into uplifting melodies and hyper-funk.

Drawing inspiration from a tech noir sample, he fuses a simple but insanely catchy lead hook with a supercharged, writhing bassline and hugely rolling break which just keeps building to its climatic breakdown. Bigger than a ten ton dynamite charge and loaded with enough depth to blast any dancefloor - this is guaranteed to whip up a storm!

Screwface eases off the pace for his re-lick with an atmospheric intro underpinned by a piano section which drops into a pure adrenaline surge of beats, bass and wicked lead switches to keep you on your toes.

Revealing a slicker, techier side to the HB musical repertoire this cracking single has got the punch to electrify a tech funk set or charge the mood in tear out set.

Pushing pimping new sounds with this rinsing release, Wavewhore has has got us hooked and we want more! For more info about Wavewhore visit http://www.myspace.com/wavewhore

Putting Phoenix on the Breakbeat Map!

Hi wonderful music lovers! I'm Ben, and I love breaks.

We just started a new weekly breaks night in the Phoenix, AZ area. This Tuesday (02/27) will be our second night. We tripled the bar's income on our first night 2 weeks ago, and we plan on keeping that happening.

If any of you kind folks are in the Phoenix Metro area (Tempe, near ASU) on a Tuesday, please drop in and say hello. If you want to spin some breaks, let me know and we'll sort out the details. Right now we aren't getting paid (other than in what we can drink), but when we prove ourselves (and the bar starts making decent money) we'll have some cash to play with.

So yeah, if you or your friends are coming through Phoenix on a Tuesday, shoot me a line!

Details:
The Salacious Beat Slingers present:
"A Case of the Tuesdays"
Every Tuesday at Fat Tuesday
680 S. Mill Ave
Tempe, AZ 85281
9pm-close (last call is at ~1:30 in AZ)
21+
No Cover
$2 drinks all night long (Frozen Daquiris, domestic bottles, well drinks)

Undecided / Santa Fe - ReMex Vol 01
Record Label: SANGO MUSIC
Release Date: Feb/25/2007
Catalog Number: SM-002
Distributed by: Load Media UK
Preview: www.junodownload.com/labels/Sango

01. Undecided - Heavy Cargo (Neztic remix)
02. Santa Fe - Tunel (Neztic remix)

01.Undecided - Heavy Cargo (Digital Release)
02. Santa Fe - Iguana's Theme (Digital Release)

Undecided, a.k.a. Chris Shelton, was captivated by the scene in early 1998 and since then has been cultivating his own style of funky, hard-hitting breaks referred to as that nu-funk sound. In September 2005 Undecided and production partner Kiro had their debut release “Obsessive Nature” signed by the popular UK record Label MOB, receiving support by all the breakbeat big names.

This is Undecided’s debut release for Sango Music, a powerful and aggressive piece of breakbeat filled with athmospherics, deep bass tones and interesting synth works that will keep the floor moving, this is a whole new step for the Sango label and we’re very proud of it.

As a perfect companion for Heavy Cargo, we present a new exclusive production by the Mexican duo Santa Fe, “Iguana’s Theme” is all about old school beats, warm melodies and strong basslines. An interesting track to let us hear some of the exciting sounds of Santa Fe.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
What's been said so far:

Ben & Lex (Ape Music / Functional)
I'm fuckin lovin the sango 002, exactly what we like, nice funky/dark Dancefloor bizness but with musicality and brainstop, fuckin dollar.

Plaza de Funk (West / Mantra Breaks)
Heavy Cargo is fantastic, it's good to see that some producers dare to do something different! Neztic and the label have very quickly established a very personal sound, I'm sure both are set for great things. Big release!

Karton (Sound Of Habib / S.N.S.)
As always Neztics production on both is top shelf. Heavy Cargo is a perfect mid-set roller where as Tunel is one for the late night crew. Both are big tunes and Sango is looking to have a big year if they keep dropping heat like this.

Kickflip (Fat! / Beat Industries)
New release is sounding cool, good work once again! The Tunel remix is my favourite, but only just, they're both wicked tunes, and a good follow up to the first release!

Jonny Strinati (Splank Records / Groove Allegiance)
Really diggin your new release, as I was the last one with the Groove Diggerz remix. Both tracks here are really driving, with brilliant drum programming ... Not so keen on the lead guitar sounds, but other than that two strong tracks that'll surely work a sweat up on many floors.

Dj support by Rennie Pilgrem, Ben n Lex, Karton, Andrea Lai and more.

BFM004 Presents: REKTCHORDZ – ‘Bass Pressure’ w/ WAVEWHORE Remix

BREAKS FM PRESENTS:

Rektchordz - A. “Bass Pressure”
Rektchordz - AA.“Bass Pressure” (Wavewhore Remix)

Release Date: OCTOBER 2006

BFM004. Distributed by Z Audio.

Pioneering and four-time award winning breakbeat radio station BreaksFM (www.breaksfm.com) proudly presents: Rektchordz – “Bass Pressure”

Side A – Bass Pressure. Rektchordz returns again to BreaksFM with this beast of a tune. Following on from “Lojack” (BFM001 – SOLD OUT!) and his remix of Cereal Killaz “Reality” (BFM003 - in the shops now!). Rektchordz’ reputation has been growing steadily since the start of the year, both on his own and alongside his brother (D-Ranged) as part of the excellent IF:IM. With releases on Downbeat, Trans:verse, Bombtraxx as well as BreaksFM, Rektchordz has been a pretty busy this year and he doesn’t look like stopping for a rest any time soon! Bass Pressure may have been named after the one of the massive breaks events in Spain and with good reason! This is dirty festival bassline music. This is music for people who want to have it large. Dirty stomping basslines and a beat so militant it will probably be considered dangerous to the fabric of society as we know it, form the core of this tune. Throw in some especially paranoid samples and you have a cocktail so potent it’s sure to get any raving going crazy.

Side AA – Wavewhore Remix. Based in Manhattan and the driving force behind many of the best breakbeat events in New York, Wavewhore’s reputation has been growing steadily since his first release on Electrofly titled “Breakin’ the Law”. Since then, he’s released “Funk Pill” featuring vocals from Bex Riley on the Breakspoll award winning Broke imprint and is due to drop another bomb titled “This Is How It Should Be Done” again through those cheeky Broke boys. In addition, his Monday evening show on BreaksFM (‘The Audio Tactics Sessions’) has been building quite the audience. When BreaksFM approached him for a remix we expected something “funky”, but what we didn’t expect was the sheer size of this remix. This is a HUGE REMIX! Sounding like the Breakfasterz at their finest, Wavewhore updates the original with extra synths and smoothes down the edges. This remix has been getting plays all the way across the breakbeat scene, from funky to bassline producers alike.

"I f*cking love this tune... really good stuff mate" - Jezbot of The Autobots

"Just gave this a listen - It sounds real fat and I'm burning it for the next gig!" - Dave Aquasky

The Phat Conductor - Live at Shambhala 05

Deep in the mountains of British Columbia, thousands of freaks gather every year for the legendary Shambhala Music Festival, a feast beyond your imagination, it simply has to be experienced. I was lucky enough to be invited to play set at 4 am on the last night of the festival on a stage called the Fractal Forest: 12 projection screens, a laser spewing pyramid, more sound that you should probably ever assemble in one place, and a DJ booth built into a 30 foot tree stump. Here are some pictures, but they really don't do it justice. I will never EVER miss another year of this festival. It truly is mind blowing,

GO!

Electrofly Records ELECTRO018 - Wavewhore - Breakin' The Law

WAVEWHORE - "Breakin' The Law"
ELECTROFLY RECORDS - ELECTRO018
A. Original Mix
AA. 40,000 Watts Remix
Distribution: InterGroove UK Ltd. www.intergroove.co.uk
Release Date: May 2, 2005

Erik Stein, aka Wavewhore, has experimented with audio waveforms and styles of electronic music since the early nineties. His early years were spent playing metal guitar in a host of bar bands which toured the New York City area. In 1991, Well Primed records released 'The Thorazine Stretch Factor', a compilation which featured his first dive into the realm of electronic dance music titled ‘Voodoo’. In 2001, Wavewhore founded Audio Tactics, an audio production house dedicated to styles of electronic music such as breakbeat and contemporary dub. The following year, Wavewhore’s ‘Bulletproof’, a drum and bass track, was featured in a film by Julie Covello titled ‘Prohibited Beatz’ documenting the New York drum and bass scene. As a DJ, Wavewhore can be found delivering high energy breakbeat or chilled out dub sets at various venues in his home base of New York City and he currently maintains a residency called ‘Unbreakable’ at the award winning Sullivan Room in Manhattan. His DJ skills have been featured on numerous radio shows such as BreaksFM and upcoming shows include 92.3 K-Rock FM, Proton Radio and an artist feature on www.BijouBreaks.com.

‘Breakin The Law’ is his first single for Electrofly and takes the label down a more funky dance floor friendly route… jump up beats & bass stylleee!
Support from Elite Force, Jay Cunning, The Autobots, Chris Fortier, Jonathan Lisle, Bill Vega & Soto…

“A mighty tune!” Elite Force on the 40,000 Watts Remix

"I'll try and play it on the radio (my kiss100 show) this week" Tayo

"That demo is wicked... All the bulbs that I ever needed to put out - you did it for me. I owe you one… Yeah, Breakin’ The Law is really good shit mate!" Jez of The Autobots

"Loving it every time I play it!" Bill Vega

“A new release from Electrofly is always welcome; a label who seem to have found themselves in that kind of progressive bracket; the kind of breaks that I imagine Sasha or Digweed might play, but definitely not Mechanoise. They have put out some really interesting releases and occasionally some that have been, how shall we put this, a little ‘light’. Anyway, this is not one of those and is actually one of their most playable, dancefloor friendly releases to date. It’s strangely reminiscent of really good, solid house music from the mid 90’s and brings a warm feeling with it. It’s pretty simple really; a tight little groove which keeps repeating, warm synthy sounds are added to the mix following variations of the same pattern and it just keeps building and subtly changing. The 40,000 watts mix is the one that’s aimed more firmly at the floor. It’s a bit more stripped down but with extra kick and attitude in the bass and drums. Simple but really effective tracks that are instantly accessible. Solid.” Soto (M8 Magazine review)

aquasky vs. crash berlin starring kool keith
"movin the hype track"
...in stores now!!
just released this week worldwide on PASSENGER RECORDS

heres the reviews and support

COMMENTS

Like this record a lot - it's our number 2 best breaks record of the month (after the new plumps 12", natch) kool keith is still sounding very kool! ..... -senior music ed at Mixmag

DJ MAGAZINE - 4 Stars "Full-on buzzbass blast of righteous funked up noise"

"Superb track. Dropped it in Manchester –worked a treat! Nice work lads." –Matt Callanan (Phantom Beats, Spectrum, Various)

Reactions are very strong thus far for Aquasky Vs Crash Berlin feat. Kool Keith ’s ‘Movin ’The Hype Track ’, with the majority of DJs actively backing at least one of the mixes. Key Supporters getting on board at this stage include Phantom Beats, Smithmonger and The Capoeira Twins, amongst others.

"Rockin ’! Production is excellent. Kool Keith is (and always was) The Man! Nice one!" –Tim Hancock (Capoeira Twins)

Radio Support is extremely strong with plays on; - Radio 1 from Steve Lamacq and Annie Nightingale, Capital from Ali B (Currently #13 in the Capital Club Chart) as well as spot plays on Cable Radio, Breaks FM, NSB Radio, Phantom FM and Juice FM.

"This single is an absolute crossover monster, crossing the central reservation of the dance music and pop chart musical highway, like a soup ’ed up truck. Breaks & Rock & Rap = The Future!!" –Clive Craske (Cable Radio)

"What a combination! The masters of breakbeat and the master of old school rap. Aquasky/Crash Berlin can do no wrong and the moment - Kool Keith never has. If breaks is going to come to the forefront soon this tune will no doubt have helped greatly. Any chance of the a cappella?" –Johnny 1 Move (Chibuku, Subfunk, Various)

Reactions are still filtering in for ‘Movin ’The Hype Track ’and as previously the vibe is extremely positive, with all the DJs this week backing at least one of the mixes. Key Support comes courtesy of The Freestylers ’Matt Cantor, Adam H and Cibuku ’s Johnny 1 Move.

"Big hype around this one and plenty requested already. Featured on the Waxworks mix last week and dropped in Ibiza to a great response." –Adam H (Juice FM, The Honey Club, Various)

Aquasky keep the pressure on via their Passenger label with a collaborative effort that rocks like the proverbial. The trio ’s gritty jump up flow is in full effect on this cut and, combined with the legendary Kool Keith on mic-hype duty, makes for a slab of sonic sorcery that ’s sure to satisfy the party-hard breaks heads. Full-vox and dub mixes mean both club and radio angles are covered..... KNOWLEDGE MAGAZINE UK

Radio Support is still looking strong, with the main mix being featured on Adam H ’s Juice FM show. London pirate Ruud Awakening are supporting on the Stranger show, whilst East Anglia pirate station Stylish FM also add their weight, thanks to DJ Perplex. Breaks FM and Capital also reaffirm support.

The dub mix is seeing a lot of dance floor action at the hands of the DJs but the original mix is still taking most of the plaudits. Average DJ reaction this week is 7.8/10, with average floor reaction 7.7/10

just trying to get an idea of what style of breaks everyone here is in to. I like the dirty ass bassline driven breaks(supercharged, mechanoise, botchit, wireframe, etc...) and the bouncy breakstep stuff like bingo beats, cyberfunk, funkatech
